Champagne Secret Garden At Four Seasons Park Lane

This summer our favourite high-end hotel The Four Seasons Park Lane and French champagne house Veuve Clicquot have collaborated to launch the brand new and exclusive Veuve Clicquot Rich. In doing so, a mystical and magical secret garden has been created where guests can enjoy a glass of the limited edition summer champagne alongside a delicious Italian tapas-style menu. The secret garden is summer’s most ”instagrammable” location with it’s Veuve Clicquot monogrammed umbrellas, throws and cushions set within the glamorous backdrop of the Four Seasons Hotel.

A collaboration this good deserves to go down in history. The divinely luxurious Four Seasons Park Lane Hotel and sumptuous champagne brand Veuve Clicquot are a match made in heaven. The resident-style terrace is enclosed within a hedged garden decorated with begonias and scented jasmine plants. Guests can take a seat at the RICH bar for a glass of champagne on the move, or alternatively relish in the summer-time ambiance of the garden and enjoy the sharing-plate style menu too.

At the centre of the drinks menu is the recently launched Veuve Clicquot Rich – the experimental champagne concept allowing guests to be their own mixologist. The delicious Veuve Clicquot champagne is complimented with a choice of garnish (grapefruit, pineapple, pepper, cucumber, celery or early grey tea) and served over ice for a refreshing, fruity cocktail. Other drinks include Classic and Signature Cocktails, as well as a selection of wines by the glass.

Executive Chef Romuald Feger has devised an utterly mouth-watering menu of summer inspired-light dishes such as tapas and sharing plates to complement the cocktails. The Italian-style dishes are created using the utmost fine British produce and as we watched other guests receiving their dishes, we couldn’t help but notice how lovingly prepared each dish seemed. The menu is split into sections titled Snacks, Salads and Share & More; of which all the dishes are designed to be shared between the table.

Beginning with the Native lobster roll, Burrata di Andria and Culatello di ziberro (or Italian charcuterie to the non native Italians amongst you) our tastebuds were set on fire with the vibrant and fresh flavours of the dishes. An experimental take on the lobster roll left us wanting more and intrigued about the other dishes. Burrata so soft and milky is hard to find in London and yet Chef Romuald had no problem in sourcing this delicious cheese. The Italian charcuterie selection was divine, holding all those sweet flavours that take years to cure and the perfect accompaniment to that beautiful burrata.

We sip on Veuve Clicquot champagne as we wait on our next courses and ponder upon whether we may have ordered too much food. The black tiger shrimp tempura arrives and we dig in immediately – the batter is thin and crispy, the shrimp is flavoursome and theres not an inch of grease dripping from the batter. Licking our lips in excitement for the crab tortellini, we’re surprised to find a lobster spaghetti placed in front of us. Our waiter explains that Chef Romuald would like our verdict on this dish too so (of course) we willingly devour every last crumb. The lobster is juicy and fresh and there’s pleasantly plenty of it! The crab tortellini arrives in style and it’s stunning aesthetics are very impressive – three rolls of spiralled tortellini and a heaping of crab meat and courgettes with a lobster jus.

The dessert menu is one that screams British summer, featuring classic dishes such as cherry trifle, peach melba and the Wimbledon original strawberries and cream. We were delivered a dish of bright red, juicy strawberries with raspberry coulis and clotted cream followed by the sumptuously sweet peach melba. We applause Chef Romuald for this fantastic Italian menu and of course, Veuve Clicquot for providing the all important cocktails. If this is anything to go buy, we’re dying to come back and visit The Four Seasons Park Lane again very soon…..

The Secret Garden sadly doesn’t offer pre-booking but is open daily 12 noon – 11pm.
