They are invited to join in a host of activities, with program highlights including the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, the unveiling of the enchanting gingerbread village complete with carol singing, a Christmas Eve Gala Dinner, Santa’s Breakfast, tubing with Santa, Gourmet barbeques and planting a special coral nursery shaped like a Christmas tree with the resident Marine Biologist. Visitors will be able to celebrate the last day of 2016 with a guided snorkelling adventure, and ring in the New Year on the beach with a special party, whilst enjoying the timeless charm of Coco Bodu Hithi.

The eco-oriented Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu resort will welcome the festive season with a bang and ensure spirits are full of merriness and cheer. The team has put together a jam-packed and endless list of things to do, also kicking off with the island’s annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. There will be cookie craft classes for kids, beach soccer, live music, a Christmas Eve Gala Dinner including a Bonfire, Christmas Lunch with Santa and a kid’s buffet, Sunset Cruises and various themed menu evenings.

Guests will send off 2016 with a cocktail evening and sumptuous New Year’s Eve Grand Gala Dinner packed to the brim with exciting entertainment for those young and old. As with every year, Coco Collection will leverage the festive season to spread environmental awareness, and share ideas with guests on how best to protect the natural surroundings and marine life so prevalent in the Maldives.

For Coco Bodu Hithi, this will centre on an island recycling competition, whereby various departments compete to make festive decorations and structures, all using material from the island. Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu will host its fifth ZERO WASTE Christmas, where the team decorates the resort using recycled materials also sourced from the island.
