Sport, luxury, nature: the Hotel Eden Roc is offering an exceptional mountain bike experience in late September. Participants will benefit from the experience of reigning World Champion Nino Schurter, all the advantages of the five-star hotel, and the variety of the biking region around Lake Maggiore.
From Friday, 30 September to Sunday, 2 October 2016, reigning World Champion and last year’s overall World Cup holder, Nino Schurter and his team mate Martin Gujan will be running a weekend in Ascona for bike enthusiasts in cooperation with the Hotel Eden Roc. On Saturday, after a brief technical introduction, the two professionals will accompany participants on an approximately five-hour bike tour through the autumnal colours of the Ticino landscape – with a lunch break in a typical local grotto restaurant. On the Saturday evening, guests will be able to review their day as they enjoy dinner together, and benefit from the wealth of experience of the two elite athletes. In 2015, Nino Schurter won the World Cup for the fourth time and the overall World Cup. In 2012 he also won an Olympic silver medal and was crowned “Swiss cyclist of the year”. Martin Gujan, another member of the Swiss national team, is a professional cross-country cyclist.
In addition to the mountain bike tour and meals, the weekend special includes two overnight stays (half-board) at the luxury Hotel Eden Roc on the shores of Lake Maggiore from 750 Swiss Francs per person. The price also includes use of the hotel’s 2000 m2 spa, where those taking part in the bike tour will be able recover and relax in first-class facilities.
The Swiss canton Ticino offers many mountain bike routes and trails, most of which are accessible all year round owing to the mild climate.
