Nestled between the crossroads between Old City and Downtown Dubai, the Hyatt Regency Creek Heights is a mere 10 minute drive into the centre of town and a 7 minute drive to Dubai International Airport (DXB). The six dining venues within the hotel are extremely varied, from the loud and atmospheric Mexican restaurant, ”La Tablita”, to the more serene and peaceful all-day dining restaurant of ”Sufra”, which showcases a brand new Friday brunch every week. The Friday brunch comprises of not one, but all three of the restaurants in one ginormous brunch priced at AED189*. (*AED189 soft beverage package, AED289 alcoholic beverage package and AED489 champagne package).

After brunch, we ventured into the NYSA Spa to arrange a treatment. The state-of-the-art facilities at the Hyatt Regency include 3 separate gymnasiums, a fitness studio ideal for group sessions,  a hydrotherapy water temple, 8 treatment rooms, indoor and outdoor pools and finally an on-site kids club. NYSA spa is a truly urban establishment, designed to provide rest bite from the fast-paced life in Dubai. A Hammam is a traditional Middle Eastern treatment, most commonly known as a Turkish (or Moroccan) Hammam. Effectively it is the Middle Eastern variant of a steam bath, favoured particularly by Arab nationals and so we thought we’d give this traditional treatment a go.

The treatment begins with a 10 minute steam – the therapist will advise arriving 15 minutes prior to your treatment to fill out the health form and take a 10 minute steam to soften your skin. Lie back on the stone bed and your therapist will shower you with hot water, before beginning to scrub your skin. The therapist will scrub your skin firmly to remove any dead skin cells, followed by showering you once more and squeezing a foam onto your skin and massaging it into your skin deeply. Finally you are showered once more and the treatment ends with a lathering of hydrating skin oil. A truly brilliant treatment, however, be warned it’s not one for the faint hearted!
