The Picnic breaks convention of the typical hotel weekend buffet brunch, whereby guests are welcomed with a selection of savory appetizers to start, and main courses of grilled meat, seafood, pasta with an emphasis on family-style cooking that features fresh, seasonal ingredients and others are served to the table alongside pitchers of drinks.

Most menu items are served in half-size portions designed for sharing. Well-thought cocktails & mocktails are made with herbs and fresh berries & fruits. The rustic atmosphere is in the details, from the picnic tables and tractor-seat bar stools, to the phonograph lights and giving the restaurant a look of “rustic luxury”.

Distinctive details in the French-inspired style include reclaimed and distressed woods, and burlap shades on large pendant lights. Display cabinets, picnic baskets anchor the restaurant’s character. The welcoming Lagoon Restaurant, where modern chic meets casual comfort, QMIN team tried some of the signature dishes from internationally trained chefs, led by Executive Chef Gael Cruchet, who took care of our every culinary desire.

Choco cake

Chef Yusuke Aoki just introduced the super-fudgy Valrhona chocolate cake studded with candied orange peel. This is Ritz Carlton’s Signature Chocolate Cake. In 2014 the cake that literally took the cake out of 20 finalists is a stunningly rich moist Valrhona chocolate sponge cake layered with bitter caramel and orange ganache made with Grand Marnier by Chef Yusuke Aoki from the Ritz Carlton Toronto Team two years back. It offers a memorable balance between sweet chocolate and sharp citrus flavours and is particularly enjoyable with a cup of freshly brewed coffee. The dessert isn’t the only thing that makes an impression—when you purchase a whole one at any Ritz-Carlton gift shop or Patisserie cafe it comes wrapped up in a box so chic & classy as it won a design award.

This October 2016, Chef Yusuke Aoki is traveling to New York City to participate in Valrhona’s 4th edition of the Chocolate Chef Competition (C3) which is open to the top restaurant professionals.

The Lagoon Restaurant has its’ own culinary leaning, which is the work of the talented chefs, and each service staff exhibits a laser-like focus on professionalism and impeccable & charming service.

The Ritz-Carlton, Doha continues to innovate on the brunch concept with a new themed series, starting with the Superhero theme on 30th September, 2016.

The Superhero Picnic welcomes adults and children to an exciting experience of illustrative food presentations and a Marvel comic inspired atmosphere. Guests can join in the fun by dressing in their favourite superhero characters for the brunch that is served family style and features live stations. Children will be entertained with activities including face painting, a bouncy castle and more.


Picnic brunch is available every Friday, from 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm at The Lagoon restaurant with indoor and outdoor garden lawn seating.

Picnic brunch is priced at QAR 249 per person inclusive of soft beverages, QAR 349 per person inclusive of selected house beverages, and QAR 99 per child aged 5-12.
